They arrived on Sept. 25, 1837 at the Port of Baltimore. The commander of the ship was Herman Beurmann and it carried 60 passengers. Johann was listed as the 110th passenger. His name was listed as John Bernard Libben, age 27, a Shoemaker, from Steinfeldt, Oldenburg, and traveling to Ft. Jennings, Ohio. He married Maria Bernadina Honkamp April 12, 1839. Johann's Declaration of Intent is dated September 21, 1840 in Putnam County Courthouse.
