Elvira E. (Garms) Horst was born to her loving parents Herman Johann and Marie Anna (Kremland) Garms on Sunday June 13, 1920 at the Columbus, Platte County Nebraska area. My research found no information on Elvira's childhood or schooling. It appears Elvira moved to the Scribner, Dodge County area around 1936. Elvira was united in marriage to Victor Horst on Sunday June 29, 1947. I found no information on Elvira's adult occupation. It appears they attended St. Peter Lutheran Church at Scribner. Elvira and Victor celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on Sunday June 29, 1997 with a dinner by the Scribner catering company. The event was hosted by their daughters' families. Cake and ice cream was served in the afternoon. Sadly Elvira passed on Friday January 25, 2013 at the age of 92 years, 7 months, 12 days which does not include her last day, she lived a total of 33,829 days. Elvira was living in Crete, Saline County at the time of her passing. Elvira's visitation was one hour prior to her funeral service at the St. John's Lutheran Church at Kramer, Lancaster County on Wednesday January 30, 2013. Elvira was interred in the Saint John's Cemetery at Hooper, Dodge County. Elvira's information was provided from researching many resources and my memory.
