Ms. Mamie Lee Gallimore Surratt Shuler, 94, of Cid Rd. Lexington passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Lexington Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, Jan. 8 at Walter’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Simpson and Rev. Claudie Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mamie Lee was born July 25, 1925 in Davidson County to James Alexander Gallimore and Hattie Lee Myers Gallimore. She was a homemaker and a member of Walter’s Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and played the piano. She was preceded in death by her first husband, David Alton Surratt; her second husband, Rev. Grady Lee Shuler; daughter, Helen Surratt Snider; and by 7 brothers and 4 sisters.
She is survived by son, Jerry Surratt and wife Teresa of Lexington; daughters, Lois Surratt Sumner and husband George of Trinity and Kay Surratt Hoover and husband Kenneth of Lexington; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.
