Nancy Engel, 94, passed away on Jan. 10, 2020.
Nancy was a lifelong resident of New Jersey. She was born in Elizabeth to Lawrence and Irene Ryan on Nov. 11, 1925. Nancy lived in Plainfield, Fanwood, Brick Township and most recently in Belvidere.
She was a graduate of Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J. She was known for her wonderful cooking and baking, quick wit and sense of humor, and movie trivia knowledge.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard J. Engel. She is survived by her son, Lee, of Charlotte, N.C., and daughter Mary Rowe (Don) of Clinton, N.J.; grandchildren, Kim (Bryan), Tracy (Barry), Sydney, and Hunter; and great-grandchildren, Avery and Charlie.
Relatives and friends may gather with the family on Monday, Jan. 13, 2020 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home 1761 Route 31, Clinton, N.J. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scotch Plains, N.J. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church on the morning of the funeral.
