Surviving are her children: Angela (Daniel) Linn of St. Henry and Sharon (Bob) Brussell of New Bremen; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and her brothers: Wilbert Heitkamp of Sidney, Ernest Heitkamp of Lebanon, Ohio, Walter Heitkamp of Minster, and Marvin Heitkamp of New Bremen.
Along with her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her siblings: Roseanna Holthaus, Irene Ballard, Roger Heitkamp, and Gerald Heitkamp.
Norma attended St. John's School. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen. She was a homemaker for most of her life, but she worked in assembly for Crown Equipment Corp. in New Bremen for several years. After that, she was on the custodial staff at the U.S. Post Office in New Bremen. In her spare time, she enjoyed going out to eat at the Lucky Steer Restaurant, shopping and camping; but most of all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen with Rev. Mr. Greg Bornhorst officiating. Inurnment will take place in the German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen at a later date.
