Harry Tex Scott, age 72, of Blowtown, KY, passed away Saturday, (January 18, 2020) at Springview Health and Rehab in Leitchfield, KY.

He was born on June 18, 1947 in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Charlie and Nancy Decker Scott.

He was a farmer who enjoyed fishing, rabbit hunting, ginseng hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He attended Blowtown General Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children, Thomas Scott of Caneyville and Rae Ann Blankenship of Leitchfield; grandchildren, Christina Basham and Madison Gibson; great-grandchildren, Eastyn and Layla Basham; sisters, Rose May Watson of Louisville and Cathy Cann of Leitchfield; brother, Hobert Scott (Patsy) of Leitchfield; special brother-in-law, Wayne Newton and special friend Vanco Decker.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Newton Scott; brothers, Hershell Scott and Ray Thomas Decker; sister, Anna Jane Kerr; and brother-in-law, James Watson.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (January 22, 2020) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Arnold Saltsman will be officiating. Burial will be in the Bill Newton Cemetery.
