Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 28th in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home where there will be a Legion of Mary Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a vigil at 6:00 p.m.
Surviving is her husband Aloysius of Fort Dodge; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Franklin and Alva (Brennan) Martin; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Katie Martin was born April 16, 1914 in Choccolocco, AL. She graduated from White Plains High School and attended 1 year of college. Katie worked for the United States Government for a number of years and then for National Geographic. On October 18, 1948 she was united in marriage to Aloysius Nilles in Baltimore, MD where they made their home. Katie then worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for 16 years. In 1979, Katie and Al moved to Fort Dodge and in 1995 they made their home at Friendship Haven.
Katie was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution and the Legion of Mary.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
