Ed Pilcher served in WWII along with four of his brothers. Ed married Etna Gowdy and farmed near Delphos, Kansas. Etna had three sons from a previous marriage. Ed and Etna had a son, Daniel and a daughter Patricia. Ed drove a truck cross country and in his later years drove a taxi in Manhattan, Kansas.

Edward H. Pilcher, 65, of 309 Pierre died this morning at St. Mary Hospital from injuries he received in a car accident that occurred Monday. He was born August 21, 1906 in Cloud County.
He was a member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Etna Pilcher of 123 Blue Valley Trailer Court; one son, Daniel E. Pilcher of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Mrs. Patricia Ann Crissna of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three stepsons, Fred Gowdy, Baton Rouge, La.; Robert Gowdy, Shawnee Mission, and Dr. Kenneth Gowdy of 508 Wichham Road, Manhattan; seven brothers and three sisters.

A Bible vigil service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Cowan-Edwards-Yorgensen Chapel with Father Carl Kramer officiating. Mass will be held in St. Mary Catholic Church in Glasco. Burial will be in the Glasco Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Cowan-Edwards-Yorgensen Funeral Home anytime Thursday.
