Williamsburg- Lora Dorothea Amalia Imhoff, was born December 27, 1925, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Martin and Ida Glandorf Doehrmann. She was baptized January 31, 1926 and confirmed on March 17, 1940, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Williamsburg. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School. She married Orlen Carl Imhoff on October 10, 1948, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Williamsburg. Together she and Orlen farmed many years and owned and operated Imhoff Wiring Service from 1968-1988. She was a life long resident of the Williamsburg area, and after Orlen passed away, Lora moved to Highland Ridge. Lora was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, where she was a member of the choir, Women’s Guild, Altar Guild and Fellowship Club. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, playing cards and attending her grandchildren’s activities and sports. Lora died on Monday, January 17, 2011, at her home, at the age of 85 years. She is survived by 3 children: Cynthia (Steven) DeBerg of Marengo, Illinois, Ruth Haby of Lafayette, Indiana and Mark (Gloria) Imhoff of Williamsburg; a son-in-law Gerry Gjerde of Dewitt, Iowa; 6 grandchildren: Ryan (Jenna) Gjerde, Jill Gjerde, Lauren Haby, Michelle Haby, Kathryn Imhoff and Rebecca Imhoff; a brother Harlan Doehrmann of Marion; and a sister Elda (Ralph) Keller of Williamsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Orlen; 2 daughters Judy Gjerde and Jane Imhoff; a sister Selma Hagen; and a brother Loren Doehrmann. Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 22, 2011, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. Pastor Dennis Arndt will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Williamsburg. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at the Powell Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Williamsburg.
