Norma A. Polley, 92, of Marshalltown, Iowa, died on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at Accura HealthCare of Marshalltown. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis of Assisi - St. Henry in Marshalltown. Entombment in Riverside Cemetery Mausoleum in Marshalltown.

Norma Antoinette Vanderah was born on June 22, 1927, on a farm east of Haverhill, Iowa. She was the tenth and youngest child of Henry and Josephine (Kopel) Vanderah. Norma attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Haverhill, graduating from 8th grade and then completed 9th Grade at Ferguson High School. In 1945, Norma graduated from Van Cleve High School.

After graduation, she worked in the filing department at Fisher Control and Cooper Manufacturing Company. On April 29, 1947, Norma married Franklin Polley at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Haverhill with Rev. Louis Grunewald presiding. After they were married, they settled in Marshalltown where they lived all their married life.

Norma was an active member of St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Francis of Assisi Parish. She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved attending her grandson's baseball and football games, not missing one.

In 1977, Norma went to work in the business office of Trowbridge Construction which later operated Walkers Wrecker Service. On May 1, 1981, Barry's Auto Parts acquired Walkers Wrecker Service and Norma took a bookkeeper position with them until her retirement.

She loved to dabble in poetry. You knew you were special if you received a poem that Norma wrote about your special event. She also enjoyed playing cards, fishing with Frank, traveling, and was a top chef in frying tenderloins.

Survivors include husband, Frank; their son, Dennis (Marilyn) Polley of Haverhill; grandsons, Kevin (Kelly) Polley of Sedalia, Missouri, Ken (Nancy) Polley of Brookfield, Missouri, and Kurt (Kristin) Polley of Marshalltown; great grandchildren; and very close friends, Barry (Emily) Ewoldt of Haverhill.

Preceding her in death were her parents and siblings, Henrietta, Alvin, Marie, Victor, Verena, Henry, Vincent, Arthur, and Clair.
