Francis Eva Distler was a daughter of Charles Distler and Mary Helfrish Distler. Francis was very young when her parents died so she was raised by her mother's sister, Emma Helfrish Heath. Francis married A. J. Loftus in Dearborn Co., IN on 11-27-1913; their four children were Wallace Dale Loftus, Donald Albert Loftus, Alberta May "Peggy" Loftus, and Loren Distler Loftus. During a visit to the Loftus home in Moore Hill, IN on 11-9-1975, cousin Lillie Etta Shuman Saxon remembered Francis creaming butter in a large mason jar by shaking and shaking. Francis thought Lillie looked very much like her mother "Cordie" but said that Lillie had her father's chin.
