1st Sergeant James L. McClure, Company G, 12th Pennsylvania Reserves (41st Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry.) McClure served in the Pennsylvania Reserve Volunteer Corps with his brother, Pvt. David R. McClure of Company H, of the 7th Reserves. 1st Sergeant McClure went into action with his regiment (12th Reserves) at the Battle of Antietam and was mortally wounded (his second wound of the war); later dying from his injuries on October 9, 1862.
