Monica Jean Lindley, 65, of Jonesboro went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. More than anything while she was on this earth, she loved. She loved her family and was an incredibly supportive mother. She loved music and was a church musician for most of her life. She was a member, pianist, and band leader at Forest Home Church of the Nazarene for over 20 years.

She began teaching kindergarten at Weiner Public Schools at the age of 20 after accelerating through school and college, earning both a Bachelor and Master of Science in Education from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. She later taught history and civics at Nettleton Public Schools where she was a beloved teacher for 38 years.

Soon after retiring, she began working as a collaborative pianist at Arkansas State University where she performed and worked closely with vocal and instrumental music students. She found great joy in making music with others, especially with her children who are both musicians.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert McGinnis. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Bob Lindley; son, Joshua Robert (Louise) Lindley of Salem, Oregon; daughter, Emily Kristin Lindley; mother, Ramona McGinnis; brother, Marty McGinnis of Jonesboro; and sister, Michelle “McGinnis” Soliz of Lake Charles, LA.

Funeral services will be held at Forest Home Church of the Nazarene at 2:00pm Sunday, February 23, 2020. Pastor Ken Stallings will be officiating. Following the services, burial will occur at Nettleton Cemetery
