She was born March 30, 1908 in Coldspring, Ky., the daughter of Theodor and Bernardine Tapahorn Sander. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She served as a bookkeeper for 20 years at Remington Arms Co., Kingsmills, Ohio and owned and operated a restaurant in Morrow, Ohio.
In 1961, she married Joseph Carpenter in Greensburg, and he preceded her in death in 1986.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Mrs. Albert (Jerri) Callahan, Shelbyville, Ind.; two step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
The Rev. Roger Rudolf will officiate the services at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg.
Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Mason, Ohio.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
