Raymond Christian Schaub, formerly of West Nyack, peacefully after a long illness, at the home of his daughter with the family by his side. Raymond was born August 22, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York to William and Jane (Conroy) Schaub. He married his loving wife Mary Ellen on May 22, 1954; together they raised a family of eight children. Raymond is a graduate of Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School, St. John's University and St. John's Law School. He also held graduate certificates from Penn State University and Stanford University. Raymond honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1954 until 1956. He began his career with General Foods in 1947 and retired in 1988 as the Vice President, Tax. In the 1980s, he also served on advisory committees for the US Congress Ways and Means committees and the Commissioner of the IRS. An avid golfer, he spent many days enjoying the game with family and friends at the Rockland Country Club, where he was a longtime member. Survivors include his wife Mary Ellen (Adams) Schaub, his eight children, Faith (Paul) Custer of Orangeburg, NY, Hope (Kevin) Murphy of Stony Point, NY, William Schaub (Santa Suna) of Riga Latvia, Raymond (Elizabeth) Schaub of Satellite Beach, FL, Charles (Celeste) Schaub of Blauvelt, NY, Mary Ellen (David) Baker of State College, PA, Francis Schaub (Julienne Sweeney) of Nyack, NY, and Christopher (Deborah) Schaub of Mahwah, NJ. Fifteen grandchildren, Christian and Angela Custer, Kerri and Devin Murphy, William Schaub, Raymond and Amelia Schaub, Charles, Jr., Bryan and Kevin Schaub Tirzah and Harry Baker, and Krisanne, Hannah, and Stephen Schaub. Raymond and Mary Ellen spent the last 20 years traveling back and forth between their homes in Florida and New York, where they spent a full life surrounded by a large family and many wonderful friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:15 am, St. Francis of Assisi Church, W. Nyack, NY. Burial, St. Anthony Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
