WILLIAMSPORT - Pauline V. Garvin Garver, 83, of Homewood Nursing Home, and formerly of Edgewood Drive, Hagerstown, and Red Run, Waynesboro, Pa., died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at the nursing home.
Born July 9, 1917, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Harry C. and S. Virginia Armstrong Garvin.
She attended Hagerstown schools.
She worked at J.C. Penney's in Waynesboro; and for Interwoven Hosiery in Hagerstown.
She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waynesboro.
She was a member of Pen-Mar Dance Club; and National AARP.
She is survived by her husband Joseph F. Garver, whom she married Dec. 25, 1937; two daughters, Sarah Hay Smith of Cascade and Jolene F. Barnhart of Hagerstown; two brothers, Harry A. Garvin and Richard M. Garvin, both of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward J. Garvin.
Services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St. in Waynesboro. The Revs. Richard A. Seaks and Gregory Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Greencastle, Pa.
The family will receive friends Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Evangelical Lutheran Church, 43 S. Church St., Waynesboro, PA 17268; or Washington County Ostomy Association, c/o Ralph Eichelberger, Treasurer, 11327 Greenberry Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
