On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, Gary Lee Mueller, loving husband and giving father, passed away after a brief illness at a hospice facility in Dallas. He was a very active and young 77 years old.

Gary was born on August 24, 1942 in Harlingen, Texas. Raised in Nordheim, Texas he played high school football and helped with the family farm before moving on to proudly serving in the United States Army from 1964 to 1967, where he conducted mapping operations in Ethiopia.

Following his time in the service he started working at Harbison-Fischer Mfg., a company that he would finally retire from as a mechanical engineer after more than 44 years.

On June 28, 1969, Gary married the love of his life, Nancy (Wilson) and settled into a house in Watauga, Tx that they would call home and raise their only son, Jason, in.

Gary always had an engineer's mind. He could design or repair anything he set his mind on and weekends were often filled with projects and tinkering and 'upgrading' was a guarantee. In his free time he loved to stargaze and countless nights were spent viewing the cosmos either at home in his observatory using the telescope he built himself or on camping trips at star parties with other amateur astronomers and friends throughout Texas and Oklahoma. Gary only saw the best in people and would do anything for anyone that needed his help. Anyone that knew him loved him. He was a kind, soft spoken, gentle soul.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Mildred Mueller.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; son, Jason Mueller and his granddog, Ollie. Gary is also survived by his sisters, Sandra Fronek, Sharon Thompson and husband, Rev. Jeff and Lerna Hansel and husband, Dave; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
