Mrs. Gwendolyn Lee “Gwen” Wagoner Eaton, 71, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday night, March 28, 2020, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Eaton was born May 16, 1948, in Forsyth County, one of three children born to the late Estie Beatrice Wagoner. Gwen worked in several textile mills throughout her life and was a member of Joylight Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Deanna Lynn Eaton and her fiancé, D.J. Bowman, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jonathan William and Patty Eaton of Mount Airy and Michael Brent and Monica Eaton of Claudville, VA; two grandchildren, Tiffany Eaton of Mount Airy and Hayden Eaton of the home; and a brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Nancy Wagoner of Eatonton, GA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Eaton was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Brent Eaton; and a sister, Deborah Wagoner Collins. No formal visitation or memorial service will be held. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
