Death of Mrs. Henrietta Abel
New Chester, May 4 - Mrs. Henrietta Abel, widow of the late George Abel, died at the home of her son. George T. Abel, Straban township, Monday evening, from cancer. She was aged 83 years, 9 months and 4 days. Before her marriage, Mrs. Abel was Miss Henrietta Bowers, and was born and lived her entire life in Adams county.
She leaves two sons, George T. Abel, with whom she made her home, and William Abel, of Gettysburg. Also one step-son, H. C. Bowers, of Gettysburg. Two brothers, Thomas E. Bowers, of New Oxford and Leander Bowers, of New Chester, also survive. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon In the Reformed church at this place, conducted by Rev. Harry Daniels. Interment in the cemetery adjoining the church.
