Passed away. – Mrs. Clara Heyen, widow of literary man, Ibo T. Heyen, who died here in the '70s, and sister of Mr. Edward Raine, died after a long illness at her home in Frederick, Dakota. She was born in Minden and came in 1841 with her mother and youngest brother Edward to Baltimore, her father and two oldest brothers, Friedrich and Wilhelm, having preceded them. In 1854 she married Mr. Ibo T. Heyen from Oldenburg, who was a respected official of the local Post Office for more than a quarter century. The marriage bore two children, a daughter and a son. Her daughter Clara was trained as a singer under her supervision in Vienna, Florence and Rome in the '70s, but soon after her return to the United States, married Navy Lieutenant Lowry, but died after a short, happy marriage. After her husband's death, Ms. Heyen, with her mother and her son, retired to a country estate near Frederick, Dakota, where she lived; he mother died there in the summer of 1887 at a very old age. Her only son, who married here about ten years ago, manages the estate.
