An Old Hunter.---We had a call Monday from Mr. Enoch Coffey, one of Caldwell's most interesting characters. Mr. Coffey is now in his seventy-second year, and is hale and hearty. His reminiscenses of "ye olden time" are truly interesting. He was born and reared about five miles from John's River store, and in his younger days, when game was abendant (sic), he was a famous hunter and trapper, when he first grew up, bear, deer, and other wild game was plentiful in the section in which he lived, and most of his time was spent in hunting and trapping. His true aim has caused many a bear to bite the dust, and he has killed as many as 9 in one fall. May he live long and enjoy prosperity.

Mr. Enoch Coffey, the oldest bear hunter and trapper in the county, caught a large black bear last Monday. He has our thanks for a nice piece of the bear meat. It was sold here at ten cents a pound.

Mr. Enoch Coffey, the "old bear hunter of John's River", died at his home last week, at a ripe old age. We do not know the years of his age, but he was a very old man.

Our old friend, Enoch Coffey, the old bear hunter of John's River, is one man who had the pleasure of reading his own obituary. He is not dead. The Topic was misinformed. The Gentleman referred to was Mr. Enoch Gragg, aged about 80 years, of John's River. He was Father-in-law of Lance Estes, Esq. Mr Gragg is familiarly known as "old bee-hunter".
