Air Commodore Whitney Willard Straight, CBE, MC, DFC, was a Grand Prix motor racing driver, aviator, and businessman. He was the son of Major Willard Dickerman Straight and his wife, the heiress Dorothy Payne Whitney. He was married on July 17, 1935 to Lady Daphne Margarita Finch-Hatton (1913–2003), the daughter of Guy Finch-Hatton, the 14th Earl of Winchilsea, and his wife, Margaretta Armstrong Drexel, formerly of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
