George J. Levings, 60, of 516 N. Chandler, a resident here 17 years, died Saturday in a Topeka hospital.

He was born in Washington County April 30, 1900, and farmed for 20 years in Woodson and Nemaha counties.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and an employee of the Santa Fe Coach Shop.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Catherine Levings at home; three sons, Damian Levings of Perry, Terrance Levings of Wichita, and Daniel Levings, 1213 Kellam; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Weiter, 1729 Mission, five brothers, John Levings of Fairview, Bill Levings of Mobile, Ala., Pat and Jim Levings, both of Holton, and Joe Levings of Warner Robin, Ga.; and six sisters, Mrs. Philomena Rooney of Fairview, Mrs. Mary Blocker, 512 Polk, Mrs. Merwina Martin, 1712 Washburn; Miss Rose Levings of Waterville; and Miss Ruth and Miss Helen Levings, both of 709 Fillmore.

Brennan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
