The family of Charles Robert Huck is saddened to announce his passing on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the age of 95. Charles (also known as Chuck or Charlie).

He was predeceased by his wife Olive Brown, parents George and Annie Huck, sons Ronald and Daryl Huck, brothers Albert and Melvin Huck and sisters Ellen Hodgins and Millie Foster.

Charles was born on May 9, 1921 and raised on the family homestead in the Albermarle District located south of Rosetown. All his education was taken at the district school but he was more interested in farming than school. So he farmed with his dad, buying his first land in 1944. In December 1945, he married Olive Effie June Brown making their home on the farm, retiring to Rosetown in March 1977. He continued to farm with his son, Daryl.

After Olive passed away in January 8, 1989 he married Verna Sinclair (née Cordes) on November 4, 1994. He continued to live in Rosetown before moving to the Elrose Health Facility in August 2013 and then relocating to Rose Villa in Rosetown in April 2014.

Charles was content to stay on the farm but occasionally left it for family summer holidays or vacations. He loved spending time with his family, especially with the grandchildren in Rosetown, at campgrounds and Jackfish Lake. He was a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows, played violin with the Rosetown Fiddlers (one of the original members) and later with the Silvertones in 2005. He loved to play cards and was an active curler for many years.

A celebration of his life was held on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Rosetown United Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rose Villa Activity Fund, Heartland Health Region, P.O. Box 850, Rosetown, SK. S0L 2V0 and STARS Foundation, STARS Saskatoon Base, Hangar 21, 2475 Airport Road, Saskatoon, SK. S7L 1M4.
