Funeral Services for Gerhard Dyck Held Wednesday

Funeral services were held yesterday for Gerhard Henry Dyck, a resident of the Schrag and Lacrosse areas for many years at the Menno Mennonite church.

Rev. Lester Janzen and Rev. P. D. Unruh officiated at the service. Interment was at the Mennonite cemetery. Dyck died Saturday at the Adams County Memorial hospital after a lingering illness. He was 65.

He was born near Beatrice, Neb., Feb. 18, 1895, and moved to Washington in 1902, pioneering near Schrag. In 1930, he moved near Lacrosse and farmed until his health failed.

Baptized at the Menno Mennonite church in 1930, Dyck moved his membership to the Onecho Mennonite church in Colfax in 1930.

Pallbearers included Leonard Franz, Clint Dyck, Rudy Claassen, Clint Claassen, Percy Schrag and Bert Scruggs.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Justina Schragg of Moses Lake, Mrs. Agatha Franz of Lind and Mrs. Helen C. Schragg of Moses Lake; two brothers, Frank and Henry Dyck, both of Ritzville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
