She was born June 4, 1944 in Quincy, to Charles W. and Edwina N. (Penny) Pendleton Hermann.
Her church affiliation was with the Christian Life Center in Spring Lake, MI. where she also served as music director.
Ms Hermann had worked for the last 15 years at Western Michigan Teen Challenge in Muskegon, MI, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program, where she directed the choirs, played for chapel services and supervised booking arrangements. When living in Quincy, she worked as a church organist, choir director, and private piano and cello instructor. She graduated from Quincy High School in 1962, and was selected that year as a Young Artist, performing a cello concerto with the Quincy Symphony. After high school, she went on to receive a B.A. in music from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL and an M.A. from Stephens College in Columbia, MO.
Survivors include her father, Charles W. Hermann, her sister and brother-in-law, and a brother, Charles K. (Kim) Hermann and his wife Gail of Quincy. Other survivors include nephews and nieces, Jennifer Basinger Stephenson and her husband Tressler (T.J.) of Macon, MO, Matthew Hermann and his wife Shannon of Florissant, MO, Eric Basinger of Quincy and Cathy Hermann of Chicago. Also surviving are 2 great nephews, Jeffrey Cole Stephenson of Macon, MO and Charles Richard Hermann of Florissant, MO, She was preceded in death by her Mother.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28 in Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Pastors Dorinda Davis and Sam Bombara officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Blessing Foundation for Hospice or Western Michigan Teen Challenge.
