Funeral services for Evan Warren Uhrich were held Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at Skyline Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Lorenz Schultz officiating. Richard Uhrich provided the eulogy. Interment was made in the Skyline Memorial Gardens with Skyline in charge of arrangements. Honorary casketbearers were Kevin Krautscheid and Stephanie Krautscheid. Casketbearers were Grant Young, Brenda Hinman, Shannon Pollock, Jeff Hinman, Sheila Peckham, and Kristine Krautscheid.

Evan was born September 6, 1918, in Milltown. He moved to Portland in 1940 and worked in the shipyards during World War II. He later lived in Hillsboro and Beaverton. He was a fireman for the Southern Pacific Railroad. In 1941, he married Doris Bullington.

He died August 27, of complications of pneumonia at the age of 86 years.

Survivors include his wife; son, Richard; daughters, Janet Young and Dottie Hinman; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gilbert Uhrich, Parkston, and Maurice Uhrich, Colorado; one sister, Mrs. Frank Caylor, Mitchell; and nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and two sisters.
