She was born in 1841 as Jannetje Jongejan (= Young Jan) in the little country city Barsingerhorn, in the northern part of the Dutch western province Noord-Holland, daughter of Floris Jongejan and Tade Dekker.

Servant maid Jannetje Jongejan married on 1 May 1864 in Sint Maarten, province Noord-Holland at the age of 22 years to the six years older laborer Simon Koedijker, born in Haringkarspel, Noord-Holland, son of Klaas Koedijker and Antje Holland.

They had in municipality Zijpe and Sint Maarten, in northwest Noord-Holland the following children:
* Klaas Koedijker, 1865 mun. Zijpe-1926 USA, married to Katherine Schoon 1867-1952;
* Thada (Clara) Koedijker, 1866 mun. Zijpe-1951 USA, married to Conrad Kaluf 1859-1920;
* Antje (Anna) Koedijker, 1867 mun. Zijpe-1915 USA;
* Maartje (Mary) Koedijker Lohman, 1869 Zijpe-1969 USA;
* Floris (Florence/Floyd) Koedijker, 1871 Sint Maarten-1961 USA, married to Gertrude (Gertie) Kuiling 1877-1966;

On 9 May 1873 Jannetje, her husband Simon Koedijker (37 years, farmer) and their five children arrived on the ship Castor at the port of New York. They left home in the Netherlands on 19 April 1873.

In the USA, Indiana, Lake County they had eight more children:

Jane (59 y), her husband Simon Koedyker (64, farmer), their children Gertrude (17, born in Indiana) and John (15, Indiana) lived in June 1900 at an own farm in Calumet Township, Lake County, in the utter northwestern part of Indiana. Next to them lived their son Cornelius (25, farmer) with his family and a few homes further on their son Florence (28, farmer too) with his family. In 1910 Jane (68) and Simon Koedyker (74) and their children Gertrude (27) and John still lived in Calumet Township and in 1920 Jennie (75) and Simon (83) too, but without children.

Her husband Simon Koedyker died in 1921 in the small community of Ross, just south of Gary, Lake County, Indiana at the age of 84 years, his widow Jane Koedyker died in 1925 also at her home in Ross near Gary, Calumet Township, Lake County, in the utter northwestern part of Indiana.

LANSING, IL. Aug 18, 1925---Mrs. Simon Koedyker, 83 years old, died at her home on Ridge Road, near Gary, this morning at 3:00. The funeral for the aged lady will be held Friday from the home at 1:00, central standard time and at 2:30 from the First Dutch Reformed Church of Lansing.
Mrs. Koedyker is survived by eleven children.
