Gary, age 79, passed away at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center from complications due to Covid-19. He was the son of Charles (Chick) and Nina Baker. He graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School in 1958. He married Barbara Jean McKellips in 1961. He was head elder, handyman, and groundskeeper at Coffeyville Seventh Day Adventist Church. He worked at Pressure Cast Products for most of his adult life and was known as "Doc Baker" because he would perform first aid on cuts and minor burns or take hurt work-mates to the hospital for treatment and was one of the last ones there when they shut down. He loved playing slow pitch baseball. His survivors include his wife, his children, Kimberley Jones and and Travis Baker, two grandsons, and his sisters, Linda Britton, Sharon McSpadden, Mary Morris, and Judy Scears. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Jimmy Baker, Buford Baker, Darrel Baker, Lorna Breese, and Charissa Balcom. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services were held at First Southern Baptist Church in Coffeyville.
