C. Ben Jacoby was born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1872 to Jacob and Barbara Jacoby. His father was a cigarmaker. Ben married Henrietta Kuebler of Palatine, Illinois 8 October 1895. Ben worked as a printer for a company in Palatine for a number of years. He and Henrietta moved to Edison Park by 1910 where they remained for fifteen years. By 1930 they resided at Fox River where Ben worked as a realtor. He had three children by "Etta," James Chester Jacoby, Mrs. Florence Bluthardt, and Mrs. Jeannette Schwiesom.
