David D. Moorman age 85 of Minster, Ohio passed away at 10:45 PM on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater, Ohio. He was born September 27, 1934 in Maria Stein, Ohio to the late Frank and Johanna (Luebke) Moorman. On August 1, 1959 he married Virginia Bagwell and she preceded him in death on March 28, 2020. He is survived by children: Frank & Kendra Moorman, Minster, Michelle & Clark Heckman, St. Marys, Stephanie & David Bornhorst, Dublin, Liz & Craig Mescher, Maria Stein, 12 grandchildren, Phillip, Connor, Jamie, Casey, Eli, Luke, Ben, Autumn, Katie, Ally, John & Austin, 6 great grandchildren Alayna, Grant, Ellie, Liam, Grace & Nora. He is survived by a special nephew/brother Jerry & Joanne Boyd, Dayton, sisters-in-law: Donna Moorman, Minster, Alice Moorman, Minster and Jane Mays, Howell, MI. He was preceded in death by brothers & sisters: Frances Boyd, Hugo Moorman, Richard & Sylvia Moorman, Harry Moorman, Fr. Edward Moorman, Freda & Norb Gudorf, Rosella & Garland Redick, Fr. Gregory Moorman, Dorothy & Alvin Niese, Paul Moorman, Mary Magdal Moorman, Eugene Moorman, Jane & Allan Ahlers, Virgil Moorman, Nephew Gene and Ann Boyd. Dave was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster and of the Men’s Choir for 45 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy for 3 years during the Korean War and served on the USS Kearsarge aircraft carrier. He is a member of the Minster American Legion and VFW. He was a member and former president of the Minster Area Life Squad, a former member and president of the Minster Historical Society, former volunteer at JTDMH and a former volunteer at the Center for Neurological Development. He was retired from Goodyear and a former member of the Auglaize County Republican Central Committee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at St. Augustine Catholic Church and will be live streamed on St. Augustine YouTube page. Burial will take place at St. Augustine Cemetery with full military honors. Arrangements are entrusted at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
