Gail Yvonne Fricke was born on Jan. 17, 1937 to William and Pauline Fricke in Lexington, TX.  As a child, Gail enjoyed riding horses, going to football games, baton twirling, and hanging out with friends.  Gail was very social and could easily start conversations with anyone.  Her senior class voted her as “Class Favorite” in high school.

Gail attended Nursing School after high school and became a registered nurse (RN). Shortly after, she met Eddie Ludwig Walther (Junior) while she was in Nursing School.  They enjoyed dancing, fishing, and fell in love. They were married in 1957 and made their home in Houston, Texas where they raised three children. Gail was a devoted wife and a loving mother to Paula, Mark, and Michael.  She was such a caregiver to her family and took care of our Dad when he had major brain surgery due to a brain-tumor discovered at age 43.  She nursed him back to health and he lived until he was 68.  Gail loved life: going to the farm, the beach house on the weekends, shopping, antiques, and church on Sundays. She also loved having her grandchildren come visit and cooking the big traditional thanksgiving meals.  Mom was a wonderful cook and had many recipes in local cookbooks. She enjoyed getting together with old classmates from nursing school and watching football games with family.

Gail Yvonne Walther went to her heavenly home on July 31, 2020 at the age of 83 years old.  Gail is survived by her three children: Daughter Paula and Husband David McPartlin, Sons, Mark Walther, and Michael and Wife Dawn Walther. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Angelica McPartlin, Brittany and Husband Steffen Schwartz, Connor McPartlin, Michael Jr. Walther, Mathew Walther, & her only great-grandchild Reese Leighton Schwartz. She is also survived by her youngest sister, Susie & Husband Ron Wingenter, brother n law Clinton Walther, and many nieces and nephews.
