Joel Michael Kukla , 19, of Tucson, AZ died in his sleep of unknown causes on August 30, 2007. The funeral service and burial were at EVERGREEN MORTUARY AND CEMETERY on September 2, 2007. Joel was a member of Congregation Chavarim and was currently studying at Pima Community College. He was also a student of Tai Kwon Do at the Tucson Black Belt Academy. Joel lived in Cambridge, MA and Topanga, CA before moving to Tucson in 1996. In his brief life, Joel displayed a deep concern for social justice, especially for people who are hungry or homeless. Joe is survived by his parents, Shanna and David Kukla; his younger brother, James Kukla; grandparents, Janet and Allan Green of Cambridge, MA, John and Mary Sipple of Topanga, CA, Pam Kukla of Natick, MA, Don Kukla of New York City, NY; great grandfathers, Ernest Ohle of Colorado Springs, CO, and Pandy Apostle of Natick, MA and a large and loving extended family.
