Mrs. Matilda Foelker Passes Away at Gillett

GILLETT, Wis. — Mrs. Matilda Foelker, 72, of this village, died at her home Thursday evening after a lingering illness of cancer.

Mrs. Foelker was born in Mayville, Wis., March 10, 1868. On Nov. 3, 1886, she was married to August Foelker. They moved to Gillett 51 years ago where she resided until the time of her death.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. William Krause and Mrs. William Fenske of this village; three sons, Edward, Rudolph and Art, also of this village; one sister, Mrs. Emma Loseke, Gillett; two brothers, Henry Hanstedt, Gillett; and Lewis Hanstedt, North Dakota. Thirteen grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Sunday afternoon at her home and at 2 o'clock at St. John's Lutheran church with the Rev. E. C. Kumpf officiating. Burial will be in Wanderer's Rest cemetery. The Kuehl Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.
