She was born in Nessen City on Sept. 1, 1911, the daughter of Henry and Goldie (Holtzapple) Dinger. She was united in marriage on Oct. 21, 1930 to Donald G. Hill, and they celebrated 55 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 1985.
Maude enjoyed gardening and was an avid fisherman and hunter. She loved her children and grandchildren and centered her life around them.
Maude is survived by her children, Stanley and Ilene Hill of Nessen City, and Shirley and Ronald Dahlke of Twin Lake. Also surviving are her grandchildren, John and Cindy Dahlke, who made their home with Maude; Stanley Hill, Meme and Mark McCall, Cleo and Jake Sonderegger, all of Traverse City; Noreen and Patrick Colwell of Holton; Ronald Dahlke of Brunswick; and Jillayne and Bruce Edgerton of North Muskegon; also, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Maude was also preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Ray, Donald, Robert and Joseph Dinger. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Jan. 12, at 1 p.m. at the Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva, with the Rev. Floyd Soper officiating. Burial will be in the Colfax Township Cemetery, Nessen City.
