Mr Ockenga, retired superintendent of the Chicago Rapid Transit, resided in Arlington for the past 10 years.
Born in Peoria, Ill, he resided for many years in Austin, Ill.
He served for many years on the board of Austin Methodist church, was active in Austin Lodge, AF & AM, and was a past president of Austin Kiwanis Club.
He also leaves a wife, Angie (Tetzloff) Ockenga of Monterey, Calif, and three daughters, Mrs Tod B Sperling of Monterey, and Angie Ockenga and Mrs Leonard S Czajczynski, both of Detroit, Mich.
Services will be held Friday at 10 am at the Saville Chapel, 418 Massachusetts ave, Arlington.
Burial will be Saturday at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Hillside, Ill.
