William "Bill" J. Beatty, February 10, 1933 - October 10, 2020
Bill Beatty, 87, of Shawnee, KS passed away on October 10th, 2020. He was born on February 10th, 1933 in Winwood, MO (part of Kansas City) to Herbert & Anna Beatty.
Bill will be laid to rest at Leavenworth National Cemetery with a private family service.
In 1955, he married the love of his life, Mary C. Engel and they just celebrated their 65th anniversary.
Bill served in the United States Army during the Korean conflicts. Upon returning from the United States Army, he went on to become a Firefighter in District 2 Prairie Village FD. Bill and Mary operated the Beatty Repair Company & Beatty Locksmith Company in Shawnee, KS for over 50 years.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; sons, Bill (Renee), Dennis (Mary E.), Michael; daughter, Janice (Gary) Self; grandchildren, Brittany, Jason, Chris, Sean and Tyler; and great-grandsons, Lucas and Walter.
Memorial donations in Bill's name may be made to Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas.
