Carl G. Lusche, 1715 11th Street, died Saturday in the Columbus Hospital at the age of 85.
Funeral rites will be conducted by Rev. Paul Rowoldt, 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church following a family prayer service at 9:45 a.m. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
The body lies in state today at Gass-Haney Funeral Chapel; 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Lifetime resident of Columbus and vicinity, Mr. Lusche was born May 14, 1892 in Platte County. His parents were George and Cahterine (Distler) Lusche.
He married Martha Schreiber Sept. 8, 1915 at St. John Lutheran Church, Shell Creek, and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1965.
A retired farmer, Mr. Lusche was associated with Gass-Haney Funeral Home for many years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and former member of the Farmers Union.
He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Carroll, killed in World War II, Nov. 2, 1943 in the Pacific; and one brother, Emil.
Survivors include his granddaughter, Mrs. Jan (Janet) Stonebraker, and great-grandchildren, Joel, Jody, Jill, Jennifer and Jon Stonebraker, all of Omaha; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Louis (Marion) Zobel of Columbus; step-grandchildren, Mrs. John (Zona) Westfall of El Cajon, Calif., William Zobel of Columbus, Mrs. Louis (Rita) Peach of Monroe; one brother, Edward of Columbus
The family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Memorial Fund or the donor's choice.
