Wayne K Johnson, 84, of Hersey, died Sunday, March 16 at Spectrum Health-Reed City Campus.
He was born June 29, 1923, in Pinora Township, Lake County to Carl and Christina (Klumpp) Johnson, and attended Hersey school, graduating from Hersey High School in 1941. He attended college for one year.
Wayne was a lifetime resident of the Hersey area, where he farmed. He was a member of the Hersey United Methodist Church, the Farm Bureau, Michigan Milk Producers, and had been a member of the Hersey and Reed City school boards. Wayne also enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving are his wife Wilma; daughters, Karen (Robert) Morlock and Kathy Rehkopf of Reed City, and Lynn (Jerry) Mitchell of Hersey; nine grandchildren; Tammy, Jeff, Carri, Jennifer, Rebecca, Christina, Richard, Ryann and Tim; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Avis McLachlan of Arizona. He was preceded in death by one brother, Keith.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 19 at the Hersey United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Hersey Village.
