Cora Lee (Koopmann) Highsmith, 91, of La Grange, Texas passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020.

Cora was born in Round Top, Texas on March 10, 1929, the daughter of Henry and Olga (Ables) Koopmann.

She married Gerald Highsmith in 1980.

She was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at the age of 12. Cora joined the Assembly of God Church in Bay City, Texas on August 20, 1984. When she relocated to La Grange, she became a member of the Gospel Lighthouse.

She worked as a cashier at HEB and retired after 20 plus years. Her many hobbies included quilting, gardening and cooking for family and friends. She also was a wonderful seamstress.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, G.D. Highsmith; son, Michael Stanley and sister, Henrietta Dooley.

In an abundance of caution due to the recent COVID-19 operating procedures, the recommendations of the Governor and County Judge are that face masks be worn as well as social distancing up to 6 feet apart.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange. Burial will follow at Florida Chapel Cemetery in Round Top.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations, 208 W. Pearl, La Grange, Texas.
