First Lady of Nicaragua. Born into a prominent Nicaraguan family, Abaunza married Enrique Bolaños Geyer in 1949. With the election of her husband as President, she served as First Lady of Nicaragua from 2002 until 2007. Affectionately known as Doña Lila T., she was known for promoting and implementing a wide range of charitable and social programs in Nicaragua, including those for hospitals, educational programs, and children.
