"We all die. The measurement of anyone's life is the impact that life made upon the world and upon others. Even though Willy died at such a young age, he still made an impact. He will be missed, and the world is poorer for his loss."

Ten year old Willy Lee Brady was shot to death with a shotgun along with his mother Becky Wiley and his two brothers Tyrone and Jessie Wiley. The murder was committed by his 15 year old step brother Jamie Wiley. The murder happened in Thermopolis, Wyoming, a small town of about four thousand people.

After Jamie murdered his step-mother (Willy's biological mother) and his brothers, he ran out of ammunition. During this time ten year old Willy fled from the house. Jamie reloaded his shotgun and chased after and found Willy and took him back to the house where he shot him.

Willy lived in Thermopolis, Wyoming in a small house just outside of town. He was friendly and sharing. His favorite Nintendo game was "Mega Man", a screenshot of which is shown to the right.

The photo shown to the right was [likely] taken at Ralph Witters Elementary School during a school picture day. If anyone has more photos or other information that can be added to this memorial, please contact Carl.

Jamie Wiley is currently serving a life sentence in Wyoming State Penitentiary at Rawlins, Wyoming.

---------- My Eulogy (from Carl) ---------

In November 1990, my friend Willy Lee Brady was killed, the victim of a senseless murder. We were the same age, and went to the same classroom every day for school. Yet for some reason, I am able to live to see more years.

I remember going to his house and playing Nintendo with him. I remember that he loved Mega Man. I remember that he showed me how to play the different levels, and I remember the grid of 9 levels you could choose from when you first see the game load.

I was able to know him for a brief period of time as his friend. Because it was almost 20 years ago, I cannot remember as much as I would like to.

I have a photograph of myself with the same blue background taken on the same photo day at the same elementary school. Yet I am here, and he is not.

When the year was 1990, he was slightly older than I was. I looked at him as a friend slightly older than myself. Today, I look at the same photo and I cannot see him through those same eyes. Today, I see him as a young child. An innocent and helpless victim of a terrible crime.

It saddens me deeply to know that we live in a world where such a tragedy could occur. I cannot imagine what it must have been like for him to flee his house only to be murdered by his brother. I wish there was more. One photograph doesn't begin to do this memorial justice. Nonetheless, I am thankful for that photograph as it allows me to remember my friend who I have not seen for nearly twenty years.

For those who loved him, I say this. He is still missed. He is still remembered. I only wish that I had more to remember him by other than twenty-year old memories and a small photograph.

For the very small bit that it is worth, I have chosen to sponsor this memorial page and remove the ads with a $5.00 payment. His mom is dead. His brothers are dead or in prison. Purely tragic.

I guess what upsets me the most about the whole thing is that I remember when the news of his murder reached those of us in his class. I remember that it seemed that hardly any of the other kids appeared to take it very hard. It upset me. I remember confronting some kids and asking them about it, why weren't they sad, etc. Maybe he didn't have many other friends. Maybe the other kids just didn't react in the way one would expect. Whatever the case, he did have at least one friend.

Twenty years later, I am able to show it in the best way I can. By contributing to this memorial page. I only hope that were he alive today he would see it and know that he truly is remembered and that he isn't just "some kid" who died in 1990 that everyone forgot about.

We will never know what he may have become, but I will remember him as a kind sharing and generous friend and I will remember the time we shared growing up however brief it was.
