The funeral of Christ Lauer of St Martin who died last week Friday was held Monday morning. He had been siling with palsy for the last ten years by complications developed which caused his death. He was 74 years old. Mr. Lauer was born on the old Christ Lauer place about two miles from town. After his marriage he first resided at Faming on a farm. From there he moved to the old home after the parents quit farming and retired. He was a member of the local school board for many years but resigned from the post after his children left school. For the last ten years he has been a resident of this town. He is survived by his wife and eight children. There were all present except Mrs. Klein, who resides with her husband at Phoenix, Arizona. The St Joseph's Mens's society attended the funeral in a group. The pallbearers were Joseph Eloigen, Jos. Eickhoff, Peter Terres, Mike Sclick, Frank Stang, and Christ Spanier, Robert Lauer was cross bearer.
