PETERSBURG - Warren A. Fleming of Petersburg, IL, formerly of Canton, IL, passed away on October 6, 2012, at Sunny Acres Home in Petersburg.
He was born November 24, 1923, in Havana, IL, the son of Samuel and Laura (Gilmore) Fleming and was the youngest of 12 children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Warren was a WWII US Army veteran and belonged to the Canton Masonic Lodge and the Canton American Legion. He was a retired painter/decorator, having spent 45 years owing his own business in Canton before retiring in 1990. He was also an avid classic car collector and a member of the United Methodist Church in Petersburg.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Doris McDowell-Fleming of Petersburg; his daughter, Carol A. Berberet (Ron Suddeth); granddaughter, Laura (DJ) Holmes; stepdaughter Kathleen (Ed) Spinner and numerous nieces and nephews. A son, son, Michael A. Fleming, of Canton, passed away in 2016.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 11, 2012, at 10:00 AM at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg with the Rev. John Vidakovich officiating, with burial following at Oakland Cemetery, Petersburg, IL.
