Elizabeth Lockman - 1909-1999

Elizabeth Lockman, 89, of Cheyenne, died July 31 at United Medical Center-West.

She was born Nov. 3, 1909, in Siberia, Russia.

In January 1913, she and her parents and three brothers immigrated to the United States, and homesteaded in Keota, Colo.

She married John Lockman April 7, 1929, in Fort Collins, Colo.

Mrs. Lockman was a member of First United Methodist Church, Union Pacific Railroad Retired Group and was a former member of the UP Oldtimers Club. She and her husband were members of the originating Colorado chapter of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia.

Mrs. Lockman is survived by a son, Arthur J. Lockman of Cheyenne; two daughters, Norma J. Duncan of Cheyenne and Karen L. Dunigan of Thornton, Colo.; two brothers, Louis Weber of Ridgway, Colo., and Dan Weber of Casper; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lockman on March 12, 1983; her parents, Henry and Katherine (Moreland) Weber; four brothers, George Weber, Adam Weber, Alex Weber and Sam Weber; a sister, Margery Ellen "Helen" Felte; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Janet Forbes officiating. Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Friends may contribute to Meals On Wheels or a charity of their choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
