Funeral services for U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Raymond E. Roessler, 43, of Clinton, Utah will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday October 12, 2007 at The Church of The Visitation in Westphalia with Rev. Jim Harnan, Deacon Bill Smetana and Minister Joe Baisden officiating. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery in Westphalia.

Lieutenant Colonel Roessler died October 5, 2007, in a plane crash in the Cajon Pass in San Bernardino County, California.

He was born in Cameron to Marvin J. (Buddy) Roessler and Nelda Bravenec Roessler. He graduated from Belton High School. In 1987 he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas and received his Air Force Commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 847, Angelo State University. In 1994 he received a Master of Aeronautical Science, from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Dayton Beach, Florida, in 2002 he received a Master of Science in Military Operational Art, from Air University, Maxwell Air Force Base, AL. He completed numerous Air Force related schools including Aircraft Maintenance Officer Course at Chanute Air Force Base, IL, Squardon Officer School at Maxwell Air Force Base, AL, Supply Officer Course, Medina Annex, Lackland Air Force Base, TX, Advanced Logistics Officer Course Lackland Air Force Base, TX, Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell Air Force Base, AL and Air War College. He was a career aircraft maintenance officer who deployed to Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He also deployed in support of Operation Provide Comfort, Allied Force, Southern Watch, Northern Watch and Northern Denial, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. His current station was Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

He married Annette Blake on October 16, 1997 and he was a Catholic.

Survivors include his wife Annette Roessler of Clinton, Utah; his son Benjamin Roessler of Clinton, Utah; his daughter Abigail Roessler of Clinton, Utah; one brother Randall Roessler of Dripping Springs; one sister Rene Roessler of Tucson, Arizona; his parents Marvin J. (Buddy) and Nelda Roessler of Blanco and Belton, TX; his wife's parents Chuck and Rosie Blake of Columbus, Ohio; his nephews Ryan, A.J. and Colin Roessler all of Dripping Springs and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
