Tony “Zissis” Giagios, age 79, of Falmouth, Kentucky, passed away at his farm in Harrison County, Kentucky, on February 1, 2021. Born on January 21, 1942, in Pyregtos, Greece, Tony was the son of the late Stelios and Hamaidi Adamos Giagios. On February 23, 1969, he married his best friend, Gail Giagios, in the Bahamas, and they embarked on a journey of a lifetime, full of love, hard work, fun and adventure. Gail and Tony bought the Dairy Treat in Falmouth, a local landmark, which was the center of social gatherings for generations of Pendleton countians. They expanded, opening Tony’s Steak House. For decades, Gail and Tony fed the county, offering amazing, memorable homemade meals and their fun-loving, spirited company. No matter the weather, Tony made his own sunshine every day. He was the “life of the party.” He was a true friend to many. With one call, you could count on him in your time of need.

In addition to his wife of 51 years, Gail, he is survived by: two children, Antoinette “Nicki” (John) Pagiatis, of Houston, Texas, and Stelios Giagios, of Falmouth; five grandchildren, Antony Orion Giagios, Alexander Owen Giagios, Aiden O’Neil Giagios, Nikolaos John Pagiatis and Alexandros Zissis Pagiatis; a sister, Elene, in Greece; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Maria.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 8, at Woodhead Funeral Home, in Falmouth. The visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m., preceding the service on Monday. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, in Falmouth. Serving as pallbearers will be Gail Giagios, Nicki Pagiatis, Stelios Giagios, John Pagiatis, Antony Giagios, Alexander Giagios, Aiden Giagios, Byron Ray, Jerry Fieger, Ollie Davis and Roger Hatton. Memorials are suggested to Feeding America.
