Dorothy C. Lehrter, 96, of Florence, Alabama formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio, died at 5:30 p.m. on May 12, 2015. Dorothy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Florence. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am at the St. Joseph Catholic Church on July 25, 2015, followed by the memorial service at 11:00 am. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John, of 68 years and her daughter, Janice. She is survived by son, John B. Lehrter(Barbara) of Muscle Shoals; son, Joseph P. Lehrter (Kathy) of Hamilton, Illinois; daughter, Mary Spears (Jeffrey) of Raleigh, NC; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren. Dorothy's family thanks the professional and loving care that she received at Merrill Gardens, ECM Hospital, Glenwood Rehab Center, Mitchell - Hollingsworth and Hospice of the Shoals. At her request, her body was donated to U.A. B. Medical Science School. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul, 659 S. Poplar Street, Florence, AL 35630 or St. Joseph Church, 1111 E. College Street Florence, Alabama 35630. Arrangements by Greenview Funeral Home.
