Marvin E. Mitschke, Jr.

October 7, 1943 – October 13, 2007

Marvin "Mike" Edward Mitschke, Jr. died on October 13, 2007 at his home in Giddings. Services were held on October 17, 2007 at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings. The burial was at Giddings City Cemetery. The Reverend Ed Schwanke presided.

Mike was born on October 7, 1943 in Giddings. His parents were Marvin Edmund Mitschke, Sr. and Louise (Zoch) Mitschke.

Mike worked as a machinist in Houston for 20 years and at Kaemark Salon Furniture in Giddings for 15 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam from 1964 to 1966. Mike enjoyed fixing things, especially motors, but he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Mike is survived by his son, Mark and Stephanie Mitschke of Giddings; grandchildren, Thomas Garza, Rowan Mitschke and Lisa Mitschke all of Giddings; sisters, Dorothy and Gilbert Krause of Giddings, Ruth and Sylvin Mersiovsky of Giddings; nieces, Lisa and John Gay of Dickinson, Texas, Lori Clausen of Giddings; nephews, Stephen and Heather Mersiovsky, Rodney and Gina Mersiovsky and Jason and Sondi Mersiovsky all of Giddings; numerous other family members and friends.

Mike's parents preceded him in death.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
