SCRIBNER – Emil H. Suhr, 81, died Wednesday morning at St. Francis Hospital in West Point after a long illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Hooper. Rev. Leo Nielsen will officiate.

Born Sept. 24, 1890, near Scribner, Suhr grew up in the Uehling vicinity. He married the former Katherine Von Seggern Oct. 24, 1913, and they farmed in the Hooper and Scribner areas until retiring to Scribner in 1949. Suhr was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Alice) Pojar, Fremont; Mrs. Gene (Ada) Colberg, Cypress, Calif.; and Mrs. Allen (Katherine) Boschult, Scribner; two sons, Emil Jr., Hooper, and Lenard, Scribner; and 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday from 1-9 p.m. at Warne Funeral Home in Hooper and Saturday at the church from 12:30 until the service.

Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
